Awesome game.

I played this because I really liked your use of the Kenny asset pack in OOPS: Octopus Only Postal Service, which was the most creative design I saw in MizJam1.

You used many of the assets from the same pack, but in a very different way. Great job!

It's quite an ambitious story for such a simple setup but it delivers very well for a Jam Gam.

I enjoyed "Winter" as a character; really sold it as the personal story it seems to be from your Info section. Depression is a personal experience and telling the story as such fits well.

Nice job matching the audio to the mood after the  club scene. The choice at the end isn't 100% clear you even have a choice; which is exactly how anxiety and depression presents itself for a lot of people.

It might enhance the atmosphere by using dynamic post-processing throughout to color-shift the game to be more muted when Zel's mood is low, and apply a faint vignette to create a sense of claustrophobia when she's feeling trapped.

If this is new to you and you want a link to a tutorial on how to implement these let me know, I couldn't find a Brackeys one that isn't out of date. The video below though does include what they can do.

Great job overall! Looking forward to your next game.

Really great job with the assets. I really like the look and the feel of play is great too.

I really enjoyed this. Good job.

Cool idea; nice effects on the portal.

Starts quite slowly for a game against the clock.

Good job.

I struggled to get past the second jump because I didn't realize to alternate between up and down keys as your raising/falling respectively. I kept bashing my head.

Once I realized that though I enjoyed the rest.

Good job; simple but well polished design.

Cool idea. I found it quite hard; but I like the concept and feel.

I enjoyed the intro; Balthazar is very charming.

Simple but nice puzzle game.

Simple game, but I quite enjoyed this, I have color defective vision and struggled to differentiate between the yellow and red and gave up on the 4th or 5th round.

Animation on the wizard for idle, attacking and to telegraph damage would help sell the fight.

Good job.

HOW I PLAYED IT: Download the project from github and played it in the Unity editor, navigate between the levels by loading each scene separately.

I really loved this game. Really creative use of the assets. The octopus is really fun to control; it was exciting being such an unwieldy space monster trying to do a delivery job.

The navigation between scenes is out of order, but otherwise the polish is good.

Great game!

I'm not sure on how the grading should apply in this case; but I'm only going to knock a single star off on polish for the fact that I had to run it in editor.

I enjoyed playing this; although it's easy to win against the AIs random moves. I like the use of both chess pieces and the character sprites.

Great job.

Really nice idea; the card was a very charming character to play as.This was really fun and would continue to be if it was expanded.

Really nice idea; the card was a very charming character to play as; and the only level with the pull mechanic. This was really fun and would continue to be if it was expanded.

(1 edit)

Really great use of art; well done. Very attractive.

Found the boss too difficult to pass. I think that the game didn't even need it; I enjoyed just being Eric, cutting cheese and delivering cheese.  I didn't need to slay a monster; but it was a great looking monster created from the asset pack.

Nice one. I like the use of assets; and the boss fight intro was awesome; so was it's design. The wagling sword looked great.

The point of fire being  off center meant it was hard to aim up-close.

Found it easier to run past the enemies than to fight them.

Nice little story. If I were a dog, I would want to be king too. The dog-king-fantasy I never knew I had has been lived out.

Very charming.

The court scene had me laughing out loud.

The player-character is adorable, and so are the fly-characters. Stop playing after the blue bugs because chasing down the last bug on each level was a frustration; perfect simulation of real life fly swatting.

Great job.

I enjoyed this dimension hoping beat game!

I found it challenging getting used to, but satisfying once mastered.

Where you were going in the second stage was obscured by the sound-bar; it would have been nice to transverse horizontally rather than vertically so you can see where you're headed.

Good game though. Great use of sound.

Charming idea. Nice one.

Controls spread across mouse to move and enter to cast meant a lot of switching. Movement via arrows would solve this.

Nice.

Programming the entirety of 3-player Chess and an AI was unlikely for a game Jam; but you got the key components down to play against their friends. Considering this runs in-browser; I may actually return to this game in the future to play 3-player chess with my friends.

Great concept and execution, great visuals.

Slightly dizzying when the camera turns around the board; and the beeps in the intro came out very loud. Still; I really like this.

Jolly sound track.

I would have liked to use the red and blue characters but I couldn't get past level 1; the music cut and returned me to options menu after walking past the arrows.

Really liked the card mechanic.

Got really into this then died; and didn't want to play through again. Check-pointing would have been nice in a more complete game. Great job.

Great use of assets; very pretty game. I liked the UI, and the Star-map looked great. Some frame-rate drop when running in the browser though. Impressively complex for a Jam game.

Nice puzzle game. I enjoyed this.

Really liked the use of the art; and I like the idea of a Shield bearer is great.

The lack of animation canceling impacting character switching made it very difficult to dodge the fast attacks.

I enjoyed this.

I enjoyed playing this. Nice Idea!

Really attractive game; great use of the art assets. Great potential for a full game here.
